My interests are focused on the understanding of the structure-function relationship and on the mechanistic aspects of Carbohydrate Active enZymes (CAZymes).

In particular, my studies are addressed to the identification of novel glycosidases by classical and metagenomic approach, in their biochemical and enzymatic characterisation, in the development of new glycosynthetic activities and in the study of the molecular basis of enzyme activity and stability.
